We all thought Jamaal Charles would be playing in Week 1 and then he didn’t. Week 2 passed and he still didn’t play. Adam Schefter reported that Jamaal would be playing in Week 3 ... and then he didn’t play.
It’s with that context that I tell you that optimism is building for Jamaal Charles to return to the field this week.
"There's a chance he's out there. We'll see."

~ Andy Reid on Jamaal Charles, adding they are being very cautious.
The Chiefs play the Steelers this weekend and then have their bye week. Would they get Jamaal in for a few snaps with the extra week off coming up? Or do they hold him out completely from the Steelers game, give him the bye week and make his debut in Week 6?
What I also wonder is if Jamaal would have returned earlier if Spencer Ware weren’t playing so well. Andy Reid said they’re being very cautious and I believe they’re doing so simply because they can. They have capable backups so you can survive without Jamaal and give him plenty of time.
