The Arrowhead Pride staff makes their predictions for the Kansas City Chiefs Week 3 matchup with the New York Jets...(see picks for all games at SB Nation)
Jets 24 Chiefs 26
The Jets will cover but the Chiefs will win. I don’t feel all that confident about this, nor should the Jets. This is a coin flip game. Give it to the home team. The Chiefs win the turnover battle and get the win. -Joel Thorman
Jets 17 Chiefs 20
I'm dubious about this game and the season as a whole, but the Chiefs deserve one last leap of faith before I write them off completely as a collection of second-rate mediocrity. So here it is: the Jets defensive line dominates, but Jamaal Charles provides a big-play boost in his return and Alex Smith and Chris Conley take advantage of the aging Darrelle Revis. Ryan Fitzpatrick is 0-22 on the road against winning teams, and that's what the Chiefs will be after Sunday. -Clay Wendler
Jets 16 Chiefs 24
Fitzpatrick throws a costly interception (or two) and the Chiefs run defense is able to stymie Forte just enough. Alex Smith plays an average Alex Smith game and the Chiefs win in mostly unspectacular fashion. This game goes the Chiefs way is if they take care of the ball and eliminate the bad mistakes on offense. -Super_G
Jets 20, Chiefs 14
Watching the Jets film has me very impressed on multiple levels, while the Chiefs have played two spirited quarters out of eight. Matt Forte has to be respected at all times as an overall offensive weapon, and the Jets receivers look like experts at using their size to their advantage. That’s a lot of pressure to put on a Chiefs defense that hasn’t yet gelled into the scary unit it became by season’s end last year. Meanwhile the Chiefs have an anemic pass rush coming up against an offensive line that’s given up only two sacks all season. The Jets have averaged 29 points per game so far this year, which makes this tougher to label a defensive showdown. -Matt Conner
Jets 21 Chiefs 24
The Jets have some individual players that can be productive...even dominant. But, I'm not convinced they have put it all together yet. This should be a slugfest full of great DL play and RBs catching the football. The Chiefs won't stumble and fumble the game away like last week. -stagdsp
Jets 17 Chiefs 24
The Houston loss required multiple horrible things to come together all at once. That won't happen two weeks in a row. The Chiefs will demonstrate their zombie mentality by bouncing right back from a tough loss, but we'll all still be worried about the offense afterward. -MNchiefsfan
