Rakeem Nunez-Roches clears waivers, Chiefs bringing him back?

The Kansas City Chiefs cut defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches over the weekend in order to make room on the roster for Dezman Moses for Sunday’s game game against the Houston Texans.

This move was a little risky because it exposed Nacho (as they call him) to the waiver wire, which means another team could claim him. However, he was not claimed as the NFL’s transaction wire shows that Nacho cleared waivers. I would be surprised if he weren’t on the Chiefs practice squad or even the Chiefs active roster by the end of the day. The Chiefs will be back to the practice field on Wednesday so we should know something by then.

The Chiefs went five deep on the defensive line rotation in the last game so Nacho may have trouble cracking the rotation unless he can beat out Nick Williams.
