The Kansas City Chiefs lost which means there are going to be some good individual performances from Chiefs players that will be overlooked. One player I don’t want to forget about is Dontari Poe, showed up on Sunday against the Houston Texans.
My in-game “analysis” of a defensive lineman is basically, “Did I notice them on the field?” If so, they probably had a pretty good game, which was the case with Poe. I went to Pro Football Focus to confirm what I thought I saw with Poe and they agreed he was solid.
So did Andy Reid.
Andy Reid felt that Dontari Poe maybe “had one of his better games in the past two years."

PFF had him down for a hit and a hurry as a pass rusher and two run stops and four total tackles. They said “his complete control of Texans’ center Greg Mancz forced Houston’s running backs to constantly have to change the point of attack on inside run plays.”
This is notable because Poe did not look good against the Chargers last week. It looked like he was repeatedly moved and overpowered by offensive linemen who shouldn’t be moving and overpowering him.
This is a contract year for Poe so he should be easily motivated for a big season.
