The Kansas City Chiefs have cut a notable name in defensive back Jamell Fleming, according to the KC Star’s Terez Paylor.
The #Chiefs have released safety Jamell Fleming, a source tells me.

Fleming switched from corner to safety last offseason, which was probably a signal that things weren’t going great at corner. Of course the series we will all remember from Fleming is when Broncos QB Peyton Manning targeted him multiple times in a late drive to tie the Chiefs in a game they would go on to lose. Ever since then, Fleming has been viewed differently. He’ll probably find a spot in the league though.
The other play we’ll remember is the arguable cheap shot Danny Amendola took on him.
