Jamaal Charles could return this week, Chiefs say they don’t know yet

For those that were hungover on Sunday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to get Jamaal Charles back this week against the New York Jets.

The Chiefs haven’t confirmed this with Andy Reid saying on Monday: “I haven’t even gotten that far with the docs or Rick (Burkholder) on that or Jamaal for that matter. I can’t give you accurate information on that.”

If he is coming back this week, I Can. Not. Wait. I’ve been waiting since last season to find out what a Chiefs offense with Jamaal, Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware looks like.

Who gets the bulk of the carries? Is Ware’s role reduced? Will there be any package with two of them on the field at once? Can we please keep Ware’s receiving ability on the field?

This is the first time where Jamaal is on the field and I’m not sure he’s the best option every time. He’s damn good and should be featured but Ware has 300 yards of offense in the past two games. He is a legit threat - the only threat at times - and he has to be involved.

My guess is that the Chiefs are going to ease Jamaal in very, very slowly. A few touches this week against the Jets. A few more against the Steelers. Reevaluate during the bye week and then adjust going forward.
