Derrick Johnson joined a Houston radio station to talk about Sunday’s Chiefs-Texans game and said that the key for the Chiefs defense is stopping the run and making the Texans one dimensional. Unfortunately, that one dimension can still be very good with Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins, one of the best receivers in the NFL.
“Definitely gotta be Hopkins, definitely gotta be Hopkins,” DJ said when asked who the Texans best offensive weapon is. “What he does on the outside, I mean, he’s a mismatch for any corner in the NFL. You have to have a plan for him. But at the same time with them getting - I don’t even know his name, I just know him as No. 15 (Will Fuller) - he looks really good. To have that guy, that’s going to open up him for some one on one opportunities. With the running game with (Lamar) Miller, they got some good things going on in Houston.”
Battle Red Blog has been talking about Will Fuller, the speedy receiver out of Notre Dame, adding another dimension to the Texans offense. We’ve also highlighted that he can be a problem. Brock Osweiler is a big dude who can sling it deep so I would expect to see a few deep ball opportunities for Fuller. The Chiefs corners traditionally don’t trail the best receiver, instead staying on their side so both Marcus Peters and Phillip Gaines should see each receiver.
