Poll + Predictions: Watching Osweiler and J.J. Watt - Are The Texans Hoyer-able as Last Time?

Happy Hump Day! Curious about what we are about to face, I took the time to watch the Texans game against the Bears. Specifically, I watched Osweiler and every passing snap to see how he played.

Osweiler attempted 35 passes and completed 22. He had one nice scramble play for a decent run but it is definitely not his strength.

I saw some very good throws by Osweiler and some bad ones. Lets take a look at his forced throw that ended up an interception:

We will burn the Texans every time they throw a ball like that.

Brock showed time and time again he is not afraid to let it loose. There were some deep balls to Fuller that were either over-thrown or under-thrown. He got him one time but for the most part, Fuller had a hard time tracking the deep ball. Brock threw many a dump off pass to the receivers sitting in the zone in the middle of the field. The only time he had any real connection deep was with Hopkins. If the chiefs can shut down Hopkins like last year, I don't think they will be able to beat us. And If we play man coverage, that should eliminate the zone throws.

In the Bears game, they actually ran the ball decently and I think that really opened up the pass. But against the chiefs.... I don't think they will be able to do that. I think with what we saw in the 4th quarter defense, having Dezman Moses back and renewed sense of self - we will be better against the run game. We have a superior secondary and a great ball tracker in Marcus Peters. Brock is going to make mistakes against this secondary, and I have faith in the boys.

Watt was pretty much a non-factor last week and he'll be going against a better Chiefs Offensive line. I am really excited to see the number one best OT Eric Fisher (so far this year) against Watt. I am anxious to see his improvement and this is a good test even though Watt is hurt.

Look at Watts stats last Sunday:

Just one tackle? Texans fans, he is hurt and he is definitely not back anywhere close to 100 percent (and may never be again).

The keys to beating the Texans:

- Eliminate the run game by getting out ahead early

- Bring on the blitzes or bring in Chris Jones and Dadi Nicholas! We need to get pressure on Brock

- Make Brock beat you deep to Fuller (and grab as many INTs as we can)

- Shutdown Hopkins, Fuller can't carry the team

- Feed the beast known as Spencer Ware

- Throw the ball to Kelce - They CANNOT cover him

- Control the line of scrimmage and give Alex time to throw the ball

What I see happening in this week game:

Osweiler 2 ints

Watt is a non-factor

Hopkins gets a few in early but disappears in the second half

Ware rushes for 100 yards

Alex has 2 TDs and 300 yards passing

The Defense gets itself together and shows the NFL the elite team it can be.

It's clear that they aren't as Hoyer-able as last year but I don't think they are much better. It's going to take more than Osweiler to make them a playoff team.

Prediction:

Chiefs 31, Texans: 20
