Week 2 NFL odds: Chiefs are underdogs in Houston

The Kansas City Chiefs probably won’t be underdogs many times this season but they are in Houston for Week 2. The Chiefs-Texans line has Houston as a two-point favorite, according to SB Nation’s NFL odds page. One odds outlet has the Texans as a one-point favorite and another one has them as a 2.5-point favorite but most are two points.

The line is interesting because the Chiefs beat the Texans in Houston last season - twice. The last time it was an embarrassing (for Houston) 30-0 shutout loss on their own home field.

The Chiefs aren’t that different from last year. Justin Houston was banged up in that game. Jamaal Charles didn’t play. They still had Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelce. They’re a similar team. The Texans will be missing LT Duane Brown and LB Brian Cushing but will have a healthy JJ Watt, who contemplated retirement after the last time he faced Eric Fisher.
