Chiefs could sit Jamaal Charles again in Week 2 and that’s OK

Spencer Ware had nearly 200 yards of offense in Week 1 so the Kansas City Chiefs have little reason to rush Jamaal Charles back. Per ESPN’s Ed Werder, Jamaal could sit again in Week 2 against the Houston Texans.

“Could” being the key word here. There have been no decisions made. It makes sense the Chiefs would rest Jamaal because they have the talent to handle his absence for now. Ware had a great day last Sunday with 129 yards through the air and 70 on the ground. It would be better if the Chiefs had Jamaal but they can handle his absence. I’m OK with sitting him again.

Here’s what Andy Reid said on Monday about Jamaal playing: “I don’t know that. I thought he made a little improvement last week and we’ll see how he does this week. He worked with the scout team a little bit last week. I’ll get eyes on him and talk with him, our doctors and (Chiefs trainer) Rick (Burkholder) to see where he’s at.”
