Chiefs cut Dezman Moses to make room for Eric Berry

The Kansas City Chiefs really had 54 players on their roster this week because they had a roster exemption for Eric Berry. Now that the exemption is, um, exempt, the Chiefs needed to account for Berry’s roster spot so they cut LB Dezman Moses.

This is a little surprising to me. Moses is a pass rusher and that is not a position where the Chiefs should feel all that comfortable. Tamba Hali and Dee Ford will start but there will be a rotation in there too. I thought Moses, with some NFL experience, would be that guy. Apparently not.

It will be Dadi Nicolas and Frank Zombo as backup pass rushers. The name that jumps out there is Dadi Nicolas because he had a strong preseason. I thought he would need a year in the weight room to make an impact but with only four pass rushers on the depth chart he could be looking at some snaps on Sunday. This could be fun.
