I went out to St. Joe to watch some of the Kansas City Chiefs drills at training camp this morning. The video I took here includes mostly the running backs coming out of the backfield covered by a linebacker. You'll see some Derrick Johnson and some Justin March along with Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware.
A few notes on what we saw in this video:
BJ Kissel of Chiefs.com was standing next to me. If you hear another voice, that's him.
Alex Smith and Nick Foles were on the other field so this is just Tyler Bray, Aaron Murray and Kevin Hogan throwing. Boo, I know.
Charcandrick vs. DJ: You would think DJ wins this battle but nope. There are two plays in here - including the first one - with Charcandrick coming out of the backfield covered by DJ. Charcandrick gets the best of him the first two matchups. It's Charcandrick who his getting quite a few reps with Jamaal Charles out. This has been a good camp for him. He's solid out of the backfield so he stands out.
Knile Davis sneaks past Justin March for a deep pass. Knile is doing more work out of the backfield and has had a few catches stand out. I'll be curious what happens with him because even though he's on the bubble he is a good player. Man, the Chiefs are deep at running back!
