The Kansas City Chiefs are down to 75 players as the NFL roster cut deadline nears. They’ll need to be down to 53 players by September 3.
Here’s how the Chiefs got to 75 players:
LB Justin Houston was placed on the PUP list. He doesn’t count against the roster right now but will be out for the first six weeks of the season (at least).
They get a roster exemption for Eric Berry so he doesn’t count against the roster right now.
LB Josh Mauga was placed on IR. He’s done for the year.
FB Trey Millard was waived / injured which means he’ll go on IR once he goes unclaimed on waivers.
WR Mitch Mathews was waived.
These players were waived earlier this week: DB Bryce Cheek, DL Niko Davis, OL Curtis Feigt, CB Malcolm Jackson, WR Seantavius Jones, LB Jonathan Massaquoi, WR Kashif Moore, C Drew Nowak, G Garrick Mayweather.
