For at least the third time in the calendar year, we’ve seen a string of reports that RB Knile Davis is on the trade block for the Kansas City Chiefs. This came up a couple other times before the 2016 draft. Today’s report on Knile comes via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Another guy available via trade: Chiefs' Knile Davis, who has been on the roster bubble all camp. Ty Hill as KR makes Davis expendable.

I almost titled this “This says all you need to know about Knile Davis” but honestly I thought they would’ve already cut him by now. Jamaal Charles is there and Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware got matching two-year extensions. So where does Knile, heading into a contract year, stand?
I don’t know what the Chiefs are thinking but two things stand out to from Saturday’s preseason game: 1) Darrin Reaves took snaps ahead of him and 2) Tyreek Hill took the kickoff returns over him. What is his role if those two aren’t there?
If Knile is cut or traded - if he had trade value, they would’ve done something by now, right? - it shows how deep the Chiefs are, especially at running back. He is a good player who will play for someone else in the NFL. Sure, he has flaws but Knile belongs in the NFL. That’s why I’m not totally convinced he’s gone until I see the Chiefs announce it.
