ESPN ranks top 100 NFL players, Chiefs have 4 listed

NFL Network’s top 100 players voting put a whopping nine Kansas City Chiefs players in the top 100. ESPN’s list of the NFL’s best players wasn’t so kind to the Chiefs. While NFLN gave the Chiefs more top 100 players than any other team, ESPN gave them a mere four players in the top 100.

Those players are:

80. Marcus Peters

69. Travis Kelce

35. Justin Houston

23. Eric Berry

I’m guessing Jamaal Charles isn’t listed here because he was injured last year. That’s the only reasonable explanation. I’m also a little surprised to see Berry ranked so high. I probably would’ve bumped Kelce and Houston up above him.

I’m a little surprised not to see Derrick Johnson listed up there. Jeremy Maclin, Tamba Hali and Alex Smith were the other Chiefs players not to make it. I can see the argument against them. Maclin has a chance to jump up this list with a strong 2016 season. The same goes for Alex but I wouldn’t bet on him landing on this list next year.
