Welcome back, Tyler Bray. Maybe.
The KC Star’s Terez Paylor reports that Bray has been cleared to return to practice for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs haven’t confirmed the report so it’s not clear if Bray will actually be participating when the Chiefs return to the practice field on Tuesday.
Bray played in the first preseason game against the Seahawks. It was revealed after the game that he suffered a small chip fracture on his cervical spine. The Chiefs said it wasn’t as serious as it sounds although we didn’t have a timetable. Now it appears that timetable was about a week.
The Chiefs top two quarterbacks are set - Alex Smith and Nick Foles. Bray was ahead of Aaron Murray for the third quarterback spot before his injury so it’ll be interesting to see - and telling - who takes third team reps. The Chiefs will begin roster cuts on August 30 with a cut down to 75 players and then down to 53 by September 3.
