NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal has named the Kansas City Chiefs the least watchable team this preseason.
But in a good way!
Gregg’s article is a preseason watchability ranking, not a ranking on how good the team is. He’s saying that the Chiefs are a good, boring team, which is mostly true relative to the other circuses out there.
“Fans of the five teams above should mostly see landing in this tier as a compliment, so save the emails,” Gregg writes. “They just aren't generating many high-stakes storylines this preseason to capture the casual fan.”
The Justin Houston injury is a big one. We all expect Jamaal Charles back. Chris Conley vs. Albert Wilson? The emergence of Rod Streater? Eric Berry’s return? There are a few story lines that may be of interest but only to Chiefs fans.
“The Chiefs have a mostly veteran roster with intrigue at backup running back (Spencer Ware vs. Charcandrick West) and watching Chris Conley as the team's new starting wideout,” Gregg writes.
