We’ve got some Kansas City Chiefs training camp highlight videos for you. This is from Tuesday’s camp practice. My camera work needs some work but it’s not too bad.
Check out the full video below of the corners going against the receivers. It was a pretty fun drill to watch and I had the perfect angle for it as the fades were coming right at my corner.
The first eight minutes are one drill and then we move to the corners vs. the receivers. At the eight minute mark you can see me attacked by a wasp. But I survive and continue filming.
At the nine minute mark, I move to get a better angle. And that’s where my notes start, at the nine minute mark...
Chris Conley vs. Steven Nelson: Conley beats him up the seam. Nice catch with his hands.
DAT vs. DJ White: DAT with the quick cut to get open and make the catch. Note that catch by the way ... that wasn’t an easy one. Tyler Bray’s rocket arm was behind it.
Frankie Hammond vs. Marcus Cooper: Nice coverage from Cooper to stay on him.
Mike Williams vs. Phillip Gaines: Bad pass or bad route? Something went wrong there. That was a physical matchup though.
Tyreek Hill vs. KeiVarae Russell: You think he’s all speed? This is a tough, physical catch by Tyreek. He came back about a yard before the end zone and made the catch. David Culley (the receivers coach) was coaching him hard after it too. This gives me more hope for him.
Demarcus Robinson vs. Deveron Carr: Nice catch ... out of bounds.
Daron Brown vs. Bryce Cheek: Nice route but I don’t see how he makes the team. Either of them.
Rod Streater vs. Marcus Peters: Peters is physical but knocking the receiver down may technically not be allowed. What’s the ruling, ref?
Kashif Moore vs. Marcus Peters: Peters stopped on the route. Not sure waht happened there.
Mitch Mathews vs. Malcolm Jackson: Mathews’ routes need some work and he could be a a little more fluid but he has interesting physical tools. He is a tall glass of water at 6’6. Wonder if he’s practice squad material.
Tyreek Hill vs. Steven Nelson: Tyreek slipped. Listen right before that play, did I hear Alex Smith say "Sunday Funday" before that route? Listen closely.
Jeremy Maclin vs. DJ White: Nice job by DJ White breaking up the pass. Maclin is a great route-runner so that’s no joke.
Seantavious Jones vs. KeiVarae Russell: Too high. Jones is a practice squad player, I think. I like him but the numbers don’t work for the active roster.
Demarcus Robinson vs. Deveron Carr: Off coverage and Robinson made them pay . I wish they did this more often in off coverage.
Travis Kelce vs. Bryce Cheek: Jump ball ... juuuust a bit high! Kelce makes that play more often than not. He’s great with his body.
Rod Streater vs. Steven Nelson: Fade in the corner of the end zone ... no good!
De’Anthony Thomas vs. DJ White: Antoher one in the corner of the end zone. Great job by DAT getting his hands on it but it was just a bit too far out of bounds.
Mike Williams vs. Steven Nelson: Williams has had his issues this camp but he’s not bad on these jump balls. Check out where he was on it:
Albert Wilson vs. KeiVarae Russell: Out of bounds. Also, a closeup on Albert Wilson. Check out how think he is. Not a small guy.
DaRon Brown vs. Marcus Cooper: The ball came right at me and nearly hit me beause I wasn’t paying attention.
