Whoa. That’s what I have to say after seeing the news that Eric Fisher got a big four-year extension from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Eric Fisher's 4-year extension is worth $48 million, including $40 million gtd. The six years he now has left on deal total $63 million.

I’m surprised at the timing of this. I remember asking Chiefs GM John Dorsey earlier this year if they had talked to Fisher about an extension and he said they had but I had no idea where they stood. This wasn’t on my radar as something that could happen before the season.
Between the fourth year of his current deal this year and then the fifth-year option, he had a little over $15 million coming to him over the next two years. I’ll be curious to see how all this money is paid out. The deal does appear to fare well compared to other left tackles.
Much more coming soon.
