The Kansas City Chiefs have a known quantity at tight end and his name is Travis Kelce. He will be one of the top three focal points on offense so plenty of attention will go his way.
The Chiefs will be playing other tight ends too. Their multiple tight end packages have been popular the past couple of years. First it was Kelce and Anthony Fasano and then Kelce and Demetrius Harris. Who will it be in 2016? Let’s take a look...
Demetrius Harris: He got the contract extension and the Chiefs have invested some time into him over the past three years. Seems like he’s the most likely one to be the No. 2 tight end.
James O’Shaughnessy: Did we forget about him? He broke his foot in November so we haven’t heard much of him lately. He was a fifth round pick last year and did see the field before his injury. He only had six catches last year so you’re banking on a lot of improvement. Having that injury so early in his career really hurt. I’ll be curious to see if he can fight his way out of it this year and land a spot as the third tight end.
Brian Parker: More of a blocking tight end right now but hopes to do more. Shag has a little more versatility in the passing game if you ask me. I guess this just depends on what type of tight end the Chiefs are looking for.
Ross Travis: Another former basketball player that reporters liked in OTAs. This smells like a player performing really well in shorts and a helmet. We’ve seen that before. Do that in training camp when the pads are on and I’ll start to believe more.
