The Chiefs worked out a long jumper going to the Olympics a while back

The KC Chiefs have worked out discus throwers and guys who haven’t played football since high school. Let’s add long jumper to that list.

There is a long jumper named Jeffrey Henderson who recently won the long jump at Olympics trials. I found the videos below of Henderson working out for a Chiefs scout last March. Henderson was also among those players trying out for the Chiefs at rookie minicamp in May. A news report said that Henderson would work out for the Chiefs as a receiver after the Olympics too.

As you can tell in the video below he has some work to do catching the ball but obviously he is very athletic. He is a very, very long shot but it’s a neat story nonetheless.

If you were ever wondering what goes on at these workouts with a player, watch the videos below. It’s about what you’d expect with the testing - the Chiefs scout clocked him at 4.3 40-yard dash at one point - as well as catching balls from former NFL QB Jeff Garcia.
