Today's KC Chiefs news...

AFC West Q&A: Who is the best newcomer to this division? | ESPN

An Iowa State product and former Raven, Osemele is one of the best run blockers in the NFL and joins a dominant Oakland offensive line that could emerge as the best in the NFL. Osemele has missed 13 games over the past three seasons, so staying healthy will be critical for him. But he offers versatility, with the ability to play both tackle and guard spots. Osemele moves back to his more natural left guard position next to Oakland left tackle Donald Penn. And with a road-grading left side of the line, the Raiders should be a force running the football with Pro Bowler Latavius Murray, along with the addition of change-of-pace back DeAndre Washington.

Here are the odds your team signs its franchise player before Friday's deadline | CBS Sports

And, the Chiefs have been very willing to reward their own under the Andy Reid/John Dorsey regime, setting new standards of pay at various positions the past few years. Which is why, even though that has dragged out this far, I'd never say never. Berry has expressed his surprise that things have in fact played out the way they have, but he also added recently "a lot can change for whenever the deadline is." Berry also acknowledged that a lot can happen before the deadline, which is the case with many of these deals. Both sides want Berry to be a Chief for a long time, so it would be a surprise if no deal is reached this week.

SEC still lacks answers for how to further deal with 'serious misconduct' | CBSSports.com

Two years ago, an SEC coach told me he immediately stopped recruiting Tyreek Hill based on his social media account. Hill was signed by Oklahoma State and later became the Big 12's newcomer of the year; he was eventually kicked off the team for punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend. The Kansas City Chiefs are still being criticized for drafting Hill in the fifth round.

Le'Ron McClain hoping to get another NFL opportunity | AL.com

"I'm still working my tail off trying to get back into it," McClain said. "This is my second year out of it. I'm going to give it one more go-around this training camp and try to get back with a tryout or anything. I miss it a lot. I miss the game a lot. ... I put it on myself to be in the best shape I can be in so whenever that tryout comes, if it comes or not, just to be ready. I miss it a lot, and I'm still going after it."
