The Kansas City Chiefs have the best coach in the AFC West

The Kansas City Chiefs have the best coach in the AFC West, according to an NFL.com ranking of the NFL’s head coaches. Andy Reid comes in at No. 6 overall which is higher than the Broncos, Raiders and Chargers coaches.

6. Andy Reid, Chiefs

10. Gary Kubiak, Broncos

19. Jack Del Rio, Raiders

23. Mike McCoy, Chargers

That sounds right for Andy Reid. He has maximized the Chiefs since taking over after their disastrous 2-14 2012 season. The Chiefs have been over .500 in each year Andy Reid has been here and in year three they broke their two decade playoff winless streak by dominating the Texans in the playoffs, 30-0.

The lowest ranked coach is familiar to Chiefs fans, too. It’s Doug Pederson, who was the offensive coordinator in Kansas City the past three years. It did seem a little early for Pederson but he’ll have his shot to show off what he learned from Big Red in Philly this year.

The top ranked coach is - who else - Bill Belichick.
