Questions on the Kansas City Chiefs 53-man roster prediction

ESPN’s Adam Teicher put out his Kansas City Chiefs 53-man roster prediction now that the offseason program is complete and we await training camp.

A few questions I have about Adam’s 53-man prediction.

Will Aaron Murray make the roster?

Teicher has the Chiefs keeping Alex Smith, Tyler Bray and Kevin Hogan. Alex is obviously going to make it. Hogan, a fifth round pick], is also very likely to make it based on his draft position. So if the Chiefs are keeping just three quarterbacks, is it Bray or Murray? Seems like it’s shaping up that way.

De’Anthony Thomas vs. Tyreek Hill?

While John Dorsey once said Tyreek Hill wasn’t guaranteed a roster spot, a fifth round pick not making the roster out of camp would be unprecedented in Dorsey’s three years in Kansas City. So expect Hill to make it. And if he does, where does DAT fit in? The answer is, unfortunately, he does.

Four tight ends?

Teicher and others have mentioned that former basketball player Ross Travis has had a good offseason. Is there room for him? The Chiefs like Brian Parker and they drafted James O’Shaughnessy in the fifth round last year. Travis Kelce and Demetrius Harris seem like locks. Teicher has Shag, who broke his foot in November, seems to be on the bubble.

Marcus Cooper makes it?

Interesting. Teicher has him listed as a corner but he’s also been playing some safety. I figured he was gone but it would be a good story if he could carve out a role for himself even after the Chiefs drafted three defensive backs.

Handling Justin Houston’s absence

Do you carry another pass rusher if Houston can’t go early in the season? Maybe that’s Dezman Moses. Why else would the Chiefs bring him back?
