Sounds like Tyreek Hill will have a good shot to win the Kansas City Chiefs punt returner job. Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub recently gushed about Hill's speed and returning ability, saying he has some Devin Hester-ish ability.
“He’s a really good catcher," Toub said via quotes from the Chiefs. "He makes people miss. He’s got that great agility, great quickness, great first-step quickness. His top speed is second to none. That 4.25 speed is real. That’s one thing we’ve learned over the last month. He’s got legitimate speed. It doesn’t take much for you to see it.”
Toub said that Hill has the ability to return both kicks and punts and that someone with Hill's ability is usually a second or third round talent.
“I think he’s more advanced as a punt returner for a rookie," Toub said. "He’s really coming in at a high level.”
Hill might have some trouble carving out a role on offense as DAT has but it seems that special teams is an area where he could potentially contribute right away.
