The Kansas City Chiefs announced dates for 2016 Chiefs Training Camp presented by Mosaic Life Care at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. Unless otherwise noted, all training camp practices will be free of charge. Bleacher and hillside seating is free. Food and beverage tents will be available before and during practice sessions.

"Justin came in here last year, he did a great job and the one thing he did is he was around the ball a lot," defensive coordinator Bob Sutton said. "He tipped the ball, he got the ball, he recovered the ball, he was near the ball and that’s a really great trait to have if you’re on defense." March showed he could transfer practice performances to live action in the preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals, playing on 41 defensive snaps (61 percent) and totaling four tackles.
"We put a lot of work in at this point," Smith said, "so you really try to keep that going, maintain that up until training camp. Especially the throwing aspect for a quarterback. This has been good offseason work, as far as getting arms in shape and a little bit to keep that going, to maintain that, you wouldn't want to not throw this entire time and then come back to training camp."
The Chiefs are rarely an easy out for the Steelers. Last season, the Chiefs upset the Steelers 23-13 after starting off the season 1-5. The previous four contests before 2015 were decided by an average of 7 points, with two of those games going into OT. Something that could very well play a part in this game is the nature of the two coaches. Andy Reid is notoriously conservative, while Mike Tomlin likes to take risks. It's possible that Tomlin could look to get the advantage by calling a trick play or going for it on fourth down at an unusual point in the game.
Among the Chiefs legends who were there Friday was former kick-return specialist Dante Hall. Hall said some of the fans believed they could outrun him. He respectfully disagreed. "The craziest thing they have told me is that they can outrun me," Hall said. "My response is, REALLY? Then why aren’t you playing in the league. The funniest thing is seeing people with no athletic ability trying to field punts. That's pure comedy."
Missing from the site Thursday morning was El Dean Holthus, a retired farmer and trustee of the property. It was Holthus’ efforts that led to the complete restoration of the cabin in 2013, and a talk he gave in Wichita sparked Spurgeon’s interest. But the director assured that Holthus would join them for filming this week. His son, Mitch — the voice of the Kansas City Chiefs — also has a role in the film.

"I want to thank our University leadership and the Kansas City Chiefs for their hard work to provide our football program with this opportunity," head football coach Adam Dorrel said. "So many things go into this process, and the result is an incredible showcase for our fans and supporters in one of the top outdoor football venues in the United States. Kansas City has always been such a great base for our program, and our track record of success and record-setting crowds speak for themselves. It's the area of our largest alumni base and as we saw during last year's national championship game, Bearcat Nation out in full force is an amazing sight."
