Getting excited about the release of the NFL preseason schedule is the most obsessed NFL fan thing ever but, hey, that's who we are. I'm actually not excited as much as I am curious to see which days the Chiefs will play. There are often Thursday and Friday night games in August.
Which teams will the Chiefs play? Last year we saw three NFC West teams in the Cardinals, Seahawks and Rams along with the Titans. I do wonder if the Chiefs will be playing the Rams again given everything that's gone down. This used to be the Governor's Cup but with the Rams move to LA this will be the ... well, something else clearly not as prestigious as the Governor's Cup. The Chiefs have also played their final preseason game against the Packers for a few years prior to 2015.
With the Royals being good once again and August being relevant for them, we'll need to compare the Chiefs schedule to the Royals as well.
While we're here, here are the Chiefs 2016 regular season opponents. The regular season schedule should be out later in April.
Home: Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets
Away: Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers
