With the second pick in the 2016 Arrowhead Pride mock draft, Browns GM Jokerwolfblade selects...
Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley
This is probably a controversial pick. I opted not to go QB as a first round pick is expected to start immediately. Neither Jared Goff nor Carson Wentz strikes me as able to simply step in and beat out RGIII as the starter without at least a year of riding the bench.
So, next up on the Browns needs is o-line and pass rush. While DE is DEEP in this draft o-line is not. Ronnie Stanley is my No. 1 OT in this draft. While slightly less athletic than No. 1 pick Laremy Tunsil, Stanley has far better technique and awareness. With the loss of Mitch Schwartz, the Browns are in desperate need of a quality right tackle because in this league one good tackle is no longer enough. Stanley has everything you would want in a starter at right tackle. He has good hand placement and technique. Great lower body strength and freakishly long arms that give pash rushers hell. Even the best QB won't be effective if there is a defender in his face as soon as he gets the ball (Marcus Mariota). Stanley will help provide the pocket needed by RGIII. And RGIII will use his experience and talent to finally retire the Jersey of shame.
