The Kansas City Chiefs have drafted Mississippi State DT Chris Jones with the 37th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Jones, who can play multiple defensive line positions, wasn't on the radar of a ton of folks early on because they weren't sure if he would come out as a junior. When he did declare, he had his pro day and lit it up.
Mike Mayock said on NFL Network that he had coaches and GMs calling him after that pro day talking about Jones' ceiling. "They all wanted to work with him," said Mayock,
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was on the NFL Network broadcast and said that just that morning he spoke with Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen who was optimistic about Jones' potential.
"He said if he would have stayed another he would have been a top five pick," Meyer said of his conversation with Mullen. "That's the ceiling this guy has."
Here's to hoping he lives up to that potential.
