Chiefs updated 2016 draft picks: eight total picks including two in the second

The Kansas City Chiefs now have two second round picks in the 2016 NFL Draft after trading out of the first round with the San Francisco 49ers.The Chiefs moved back nine spots and for that they got a fourth and a sixth round pick while giving up a seventh. Not a bad deal, not the world's best deal either. I'll take more picks most of the time, especially in a year like this where we weren't in love with any player.

Anyway ... the Chiefs now have EIGHT picks in the final two days of the draft. (It was nine but we just heard the Chiefs also gave away their seventh round pick in the trade down) The Chiefs will have two second round picks, which is awesome. KC can find two starters with those picks, especially at No. 37 which is just outside the first round. There hasn't been a big run on defensive linemen so I think that could be an option for the Chiefs. Vernon Butler out of Louisiana Tech is someone that comes to mind. (Butler was taken by Carolina) Elsewhere on defense, how about Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander? He was mocked to KC in the first round often. Is he an option?

The Chiefs also now have two fourth round picks and two fifth round picks. You know what that means? The Chiefs can get back into the third round if they want. Heck, they could package their other second round pick to move up even higher in the second! They have a lot of options.

Here are their updated picks after the trade:

2nd round: 37 (from 49ers)

2nd round: 59

3rd round: THANKS GOODELL

4th round: 105 (from 49ers)
