With the 28th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs have ... traded out! The 49ers gave up multiple picks to the Chiefs so they could trade up for a guard. Let me just say: I'm glad the Chiefs didn't trade up for a guard. See the 49ers reaction to the trade here.
Here are the trade details:
Chiefs get: 37th, 105th, 178th picks
49ers get: 28th, 249th pick
According to the draft trade value chart, the Chiefs 28th pick is worth 660 points. The 49ers picks are worth 530, 84 and 20 points. So it's a close trade (and teams don't necessarily use that chart exactly anymore).
There were some players I liked for the Chiefs at No. 28 including Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander and a few of the defensive linemen there. However, I also liked the idea of adding another fourth round pick. That could be end up being a contributor for the Chiefs. Plus, the Chiefs could still get the player they wanted at 37. We'll see who drops.

Chiefs team needs
Defensive line: Someone to prepare for the possibility that Dontari Poe is gone. Someone for the future.
Cornerback: Replace Sean Smith.
Safety: Chiefs lost Husain Abdullah and Tyvon Branch this offseason.
Pass rusher: Can't have too many of these.
Quarterback: Not a "need" but I can see the Chiefs taking one at any point this draft.
Offensive tackle: Are the Chiefs going to pick up Eric Fisher's fifth year option?
