With the 26th pick in the 2016 Arrowhead Pride mock draft, Seahawks GM WesternChiefs selects...
So now we have arrived at the 26th pick. And we've seen a nice little run on defensive linemen. Some other team would panic and draft the 43rd best defensive lineman in the draft. But we are the Seattle Seahawks. We are one of the coolest franchises around. We are so sure of ourselves that our head coach is right now tweeting clues about our pick. Our QB is with a singing sensation. Our safety wears a crown, I mean how cool are we?
Meanwhile, did you know we haven't selected in the first round in four years? Other teams in the league may need first rounders but not us. I mean we pick franchise QBs in the third, and shutdown corners in the fifth. So maybe we want a few more of those picks.
Hey, Cleveland, Connor Cook is available here, why don't you send us your 32nd overall pick and a third, fifth and sixth and we'll call it good. Or maybe you want to send us Joe Thomas, a third, fourth and sixth (Why is Pete Carroll tweeting about big J?). Does your moneyball theory really say RGIII is the answer?
Can you hold for a minute, it seems Commissioner Goodell is on the other line.
What's that Mr. Commissioner? This mock draft doesn't allow trades? But this draft is already out of sorts due to you allowing Stl.,,, I mean LA to trade to No. 1, we don't really care because Bennett and the boys are looking forward to breaking...oops welcoming him to the division. And you let Philly collect QBs with that trade to No. 2. But we can't trade back like we always do? What?!!? You are docking us a third round and fifth round pick in next year's mock draft for tampering with the AP mock draft?
But every Fake GM explores trades. I mean, it comes from the Madden culture right? What? You don't care if everybody does it? You are making an example of us so that mock draft trades will be shut down? Fine, just don't expect a statement from our owner, he'll just send a bunch of spam emails to the league offices.
Cleveland, are you still there? Of course you are, you've been on hold for years while the rest of the league passes you by. Well, the Commissioner won't let us trade so have fun with RGIII. We gotta go and make a pick.
So our offensive line consists of a bunch of fourth rounders and undrafted guys. And while we do need a little help on the defensive line and at running back, the way this draft has broken, again favors us.
Granted we lost big Brandon Mebane from the middle of our defense, along with Bruce Irvin of the edge but this is a fairly deep draft and we are pretty good at finding later round defensive studs.
So in mockland the choice is simple. We are taking a top 10 player (not talent, a top 10 player) who fits with our biggest need and somehow is still available.
With the 26th pick in the 2016 AP mock draft the Seattle Seahawks select....
Michigan State OT Jack Conklin
This guy is nasty and has a blue collar work ethic and fits how we want to run the ball. He is plug and play on either side and could even slide inside if we needed.
Time to go for Starbucks or Seattle's Best or whatever...
