Kansas City Chiefs sign free agent WR Mike Williams to 1-year deal

The Kansas City Chiefs added WR Rod Streater on a one-year deal earlier this offseason and now Kansas City has added one more receiver to a one-year deal. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs are signing WR Mike Williams. (Update: Chiefs confirmed the signing)

Not to be confused with the other WR Mike Williams who was the Lions 10th overall pick in 2005. This Mike Williams, 6'2 and 212 pounds, went to Syracuse and was a 2010 fourth round pick by the Bucs. He played four seasons in Tampa before joining the Bills in 2014. He did not play in 2015 after injuries and off the field issues in his first few years in the league.

Williams had some impressive seasons in Tampa Bay where he earned a contract extension.

He'll be competing with Albert Wilson, Chris Conley and Rod Streater among others. With just a one-year deal, Williams will be motivated to play well to earn a new deal.
