NFL schedule release day! Here are the Chiefs opponents for 2016 through 2019

Happy NFL schedule release day! The Kansas City Chiefs 2016 schedule will be released at 7 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Thursday evening on NFL Network and ESPN. This will be telling us the order in which the Chiefs will play their games because we already know the Chiefs 2016 opponents.

The NFL schedule is formulaic. The Chiefs play their AFC West opponents twice so that makes up six games. The Chiefs also play one rotating AFC division each year which is the AFC South this year - four more games. The Chiefs also play one rotating NFC division each year which is the NFC South - four more games. Finally, the Chiefs play the teams in the other two AFC divisions who finished in the same spot in the division as the Chiefs. For example, the Chiefs play the Jets and Steelers because they each finished second in their division like the Chiefs did.

Anyway, here are the Chiefs 2016 opponents:

Home: Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets

Away: Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers

We shall find out the order of these games tonight.
