This has been a weird offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs. So weird that we can't figure out whether this has been a GOOD offseason or a BAD offseason. TJ Carpenter of 810 WHB called it a sloppy offseason. The Star's Sam Mellinger (congrats on the birth of the little guy, Sam) called it rotten.
There are some bad parts of this offseason, sure, but I have trouble looking past all the good parts too. I know not everything is black and white but I really do think we should be able to determine whether this is a GOOD or BAD Chiefs offseason.
Good offseason or bad? Please vote.
The good
Keeping lifelong Chiefs Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali as well as Eric Berry.
A good contract given to Jaye Howard, someone we thought was gone.
Mitch Schwartz! The Chiefs finally have a right tackle and at a pretty good price too.
Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West extensions.
The bad
The tampering penalties, while ridiculous and unfair to the Chiefs, are bad. Third round pick. That's a Travis Kelce or a Phillip Gaines. Big deal.
The Justin Houston injury.Bad luck or someone to blame? I lean with bad luck.
Tamba's contract. Specifically the $4 million extra cap hit.
Husain Abdullah unexpectedly retires. Good for him, bad for Chiefs secondary.
