2016 NFL mock draft: Giants nab a playmaker with the 10th pick

With the 10th pick in the 2016 Arrowhead Pride mock draft, Giants GM Chiefs*26 selects...

Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott

With the all the offseason additions to the Defensive side of the ball I decided to go Offense with the Giants 1st round pick. It was really a tough decision between Conklin OT and a dynamic playmaker like Elliott RB. It was kind of the chicken or the egg which came first type of decision here I felt. Are the running backs for the Giants that bad because of the OL or are the running backs just not that good and someone like Elliott would make the OL look that much better? I think with Elliott’s size and speed; he will be good playing in the NFC East and since he played in similar weather conditions at Ohio State, ball control should not be an issue when the weather changes later in the season. Elliott has played BIG TIME in Big time games throughout his Collegiate career at Ohio State against quality opponents. Look at his career yardage and Avg yards per carry while at Ohio State. Plus grabbing the best RB in the draft away from the Redskins after the Cowboys and Eagles both passed on him just felt right.

Maybe now the Giants will be able to run the clock out down the stretch in games. The 5 games they lost last year because of poor clock management would of given them the division and a spot in the playoffs. The Giants probably only have a 2 to 3 year window left with Eli Manning playing at his peak, so surrounding him with another playmaker is the way to go in the 1st round of this draft. They can either look for a OT in the second round of the draft or see who is cut after the draft is over.
