Chiefs' Tony Richardson says, 'You don't play fullback to make the Hall of Fame' but that's what he did

T-Rich is a Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer. So, so fitting for those of you who grew up on 1990s Chiefs football. Tony Richardson was the best fullback in the NFL back when teams used fullbacks (don't tell Anthony Sherman and the current day Chiefs that).

The Chiefs made the announcement at the 101 Awards on Saturday night that Richardson will be the next name on the Chiefs Ring of Honor at Arrowhead Stadium. T-Rich's thank you speech as good as he was a blocker for backs like Priest Holmes.

"It's been a long journey since 1995 being an undrafted free agent leaving Dallas on the practice squad," T-Rich said. "When Mr. Hunt called me it was definitely overwhelming because you think about all the hard work and all the sweat and all the tears you've been through on this journey. You don't sign up to play fullback to make the Hall of Fame. Much like I look back on my own personal life, my dad being a military man and my sister currently serving. The only thing I've ever known in my life is to be a servant.

T-Rich was a Chief from 1995-2005. He played five more years after that until he was almost 40 years old. I can't wait to see him join the Ring of Honor.
