QB Paxton Lynch meeting with Chiefs on Friday

The Kansas City Chiefs seem to work out an interesting quarterback each year before the draft even if they're not likely to draft one. This year that would be QB Paxton Lynch out of Memphis who is regarded as the likely third quarterback drafted this year behind Carson Wentz and Jared Goff (although who really knows where they stand). Sports reporter Chris Boyle of the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports from Jon Gruden's QB camp that Lynch will meet with KC.

Lynch could go as high as the first round, although it's still too early to tell, especially with quarterbacks. It just takes one team to fall in love. I imagine some team will with him. The Chiefs pick 28th so perhaps they're also enticing teams to trade up with them if he's still on the board.

The Chiefs aren't moving on from Alex Smith anytime soon so this could be the Chiefs doing their due diligence in case he falls. And, hey, what if they have him rated as a top 20 pick and he's there at 28? Interesting to think about. If he can beat out Aaron Murray or Tyler Bray I think it's worth considering at least.
