There was talk among the NFL media that the Kansas City Chiefs would be the best landing spot for Robert Griffin III but it appears that won't be happening, at least not this year. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that RGIII and the Cleveland Browns are expected to reach a deal.
Cleveland is expected to reach agreement with former Redskins' QB Robert Griffin III today, per team source. Griffin III to be a Brown.

Cleveland is the place where careers go to die but new Browns coach Hue Jackson is the real deal. He can do great work with quarterbacks and I imagine he will do the same with RGIII - if he is going to start. We have no idea if he's the backup or competing for the starting job.
RGIII never would've been anything more than a backup in the short term for KC so this doesn't affect the Chiefs plans at all. And we have no idea if the Chiefs actually had any interest. Maybe they didn't. The move still could affect the Chiefs rivals because of this:
With RGIII set to become a Brown today, that figures to make Josh McCown available in a trade. Jets, Broncos, Rams still with QB questions.

Denver needs a quarterback so Josh McCown could be it. The Broncos currently have Mark Sanchez. I like the Chiefs chances against either one of those quarterbacks.
