Sean Smith to the Raiders on what looks like a reasonable contract

Sean Smith went from coveted free agent to the enemy real quick. Rand Getlin of NFL Network is reporting that Smith is signing with the Oakland Raiders, not the Kansas City Chiefs.

This looks like a reasonable deal:

After Janoris Jenkins got $12 million per year, we expected Smith to go above $10 million. And only a four-year deal? Surprising for the 29-year old corner.

The Chiefs were reportedly one of a few teams still involved. While the Chiefs have had a very good first day of free agency, this one hurts. Smith was their top corner last year and the Chiefs are now in a position where they probably need to add a veteran corner in free agency or a rookie in the draft. Marcus Peters and Phillip Gaines are currently the top two corners.

The Chiefs go from trying to sign Smith to playing him twice a year.
