Are you ready for some more Mike DeVito? It sounds like there's a chance he could be coming back to the Kansas City Chiefs next season. Herbie Teope of ChiefsDigest.com is reporting that the Chiefs have recently reached out to DeVito's camp about a possible return next season.
DeVito gushed about the Chiefs to Herbie, calling John Dorsey the best GM in the NFL.
"I love the organization over there, I love the coaching staff, I love the guys in that locker room, I believe in the mission, I believe in the philosophy, so that's an easy choice," DeVito told Herbie.
DeVito took a pay cut to return to the Chiefs last season and is scheduled to be a free agent in March. He is not a full time player at this point but can provide some valuable depth along the defensive line, particularly if Jaye Howard exits in free agency. The argument against it would be the Chiefs need to get younger along the defensive line with guys like Nick Williams or Rakeem Nunez-Roches.
Head on over and read the full post at Chiefs Digest. DeVito talks about money not being the main motivation at this point in his career (he's 31 ... I'm 31 and my career is really just starting. So, yeah), which is good because the Chiefs may not have a lot of money available with free agents like Howard and Eric Berry needing a pay day.
