Did Keenan Allen just take a huge shot at Chiefs CB Marcus Peters?

What is this? The consensus seems to be he’s talking about Marcus Peters...

Keenan Allen is the Chargers WR who had six catches for 63 yards against the Chiefs in Week 1 before tearing his ACL in the second quarter. We noted during that game that Allen was playing very well, especially against Chiefs CB Marcus Peters. Frankly, Allen’s injury felt like a big reason why the Chiefs were able to come back and win that game. That’s true.

But this tweet? Where did that come from?

We were jawing back and forth but it’s the competitiveness of the game,” Marcus Peters said after the Chargers game in Week 1. “I don’t wish no harm or no injury to anybody so I have to go shake his hand (after his injury). That’s the competitor move. You gotta go do that. They’re going to complain and say with him they would have won the game but we won so it doesn’t matter.”

The #bum hashtag seemed to make this a tad personal. I can’t imagine how Peters is going to take this ... Just weird timing for Allen to be throwing shade.

(One theory is this story from Thursday where Peters couldn’t remember the name of the Chargers leading WR with Allen out, Tyrell Williams)
