Justin Houston won’t practice for Chiefs, Justin March will

The Kansas City Chiefs are missing one Justin again but adding another. The Chiefs say that LB Justin Houston and CB Phillip Gaines will not practice Thursday while LB Justin March will practice for the first time since being designated to return from IR.

Andy Reid said Wednesday that he didn’t think Houston’s absence would be a big thing. “He has some swelling on his knee, and we’ll get that taken care of,” Reid said. “We don’t think it’s a big thing. It kind of comes with the territory of where he’s at in the whole recovery part of this, very common.”

Two straight days without practice is a little concerning to me. The Chiefs will go again on Friday so he still has time to get a little work in. He had three sacks last time around against Denver so clearly the Chiefs need him.

As for March, it’s his first practice since the Chiefs brought him off injured reserve. I don’t know if he will be playing this weekend but he will be back at some point.
