The Titans were a yard away from going with a Hail Mary against the Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs were one yard away from changing the game against the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans were driving with under a minute left and completed a pass to Delanie Walker. They needed to get to the 35-yard line for a chance at a Ryan Succop field goal. Walker caught the ball right at the 40-yard line but somehow got all the way to the 35-yard line. You know what happened next.

The one that hurts is this quote from Titans coach Mike Mularkey:

According to Mularkey, the Titans would have been in a Hail Mary situation from the 36-yard line.

The Titans were one yard away from possibly going with a Hail Mary instead of the field goal attempt. Their percentages of throwing the touchdown would’ve plummeted and the Chiefs probably would’ve won if that happened.

The loss isn’t on one person but if Chiefs safety Ron Parker wraps up a yard or two earlier, the game might be different.
