Andy Reid said Travis Kelce came to him to say his quote came out wrong

There was a quote after the Kansas City Chiefs loss that got some run. This from Travis Kelce got some eyeballs after the game:

First of all, he’s right. Second, I said when I saw this quote that I would need more context or the entire quote because Kelce taking a heel turn and publicly calling out Andy Reid didn’t seem believable. My gut was right. It’s not that bad. Here’s the entire quote:

“Other than play calling,” Kelce said, “I couldn’t really tell you. I mean I’m not blaming it on play calling -- we’ve got to go out there and execute. I feel like we got a little conservative. I don’t know if it was the weather or what. I don’t know. We’ll have to look at the film and see what happened.”

A little more tame with that next line, “I’m not blaming it on play calling”. The full quote didn’t come out right away - only the initial part of that quote - so for a while folks thought Kelce was calling Andy Reid out. Kelce saw this and went to Reid to tell him his quote came out the wrong way.

“He was the first one to approach me and let me know it didn’t come out the way he wanted it to,” Reid said Monday. “He just wants to be that guy that makes the play and I appreciate that. That’s one thing I’ve told you before about him. I’m all in with guys like that.”

Andy Reid has been doing this a while and knows what’s worth fighting about and what isn’t. This isn’t one of those that’s worth fighting about.
