The biggest complaint about the Kansas City Chiefs in the past few weeks is that they come out like gang busters and look solid in the first half putting up points. Then they tone it down in the second half and don’t really do anything.
Now, are the Chiefs really going conservative? What does that actually mean? Whatever it is, the results speak for themselves.
In the past three weeks, the Chiefs have scored 58 points in the first half. That’s really good! That’s winning football in the first half. With the Chiefs defense, they only need to be average in the second half to win games.
Well ...
The Chiefs have averaged three second half points in the last three games. They didn’t score any second half points against the Titans and Raiders. They put up nine second half points against the Falcons - Albert Wilson’s fake punt touchdown and Eric Berry’s pick-two. The offense’s last second half touchdown came in Denver on Thanksgiving weekend.
The Chiefs have an offense problem, a second half offense problem.
