The Kansas City Chiefs formally placed Derrick Johnson on IR this week and it looks like the person getting the first crack at replacing him will be second-year inside linebacker DJ Alexander, who has been mostly a special teams player to this point.
DJ Alexander will start at ILB today vs. Titans in place of Derrick Johnson, who was put in IR yesterday. #TENvsKC

Andy Reid mentioned DJ2 (as we call him) earlier this week when discussing the Chiefs options for replacing the original DJ.
“DJ has been in there and (Terrance) Smith has been in there,” Reid said. “They’ve kind of rotated. (Frank) Zombo has been working in there, so we have a whole bunch of guys and different things that we can do in there. We should be good – good to roll.”
We’ll see how the Chiefs rotate those linebackers against the Titans today. They’ll need them all against a good rushing attack.
