There is a website that does an annual look at the next generation of General Manager candidates and included on that list is Chris Ballard, the Chiefs director of football operations. I figured he would be because he’s had two known interviews in the past.
This got me thinking about the Chief coaching staff. Last year they lost Doug Pederson to the Eagles. Will they lose anyone else?
It seems like a long shot because he’s the special teams coach and that’s not a traditional path to head coaching but Dave Toub has done an outstanding job with his group.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a look at some point down the road. He’s that good with the Chiefs special teams. I also get the impression Andy Reid is a good guy to have in your corner if you’re trying to become a head coach. He has talked about assistants on his staff deserving a head coaching job in the past.
