The Kansas City Chiefs just can’t get healthy in the secondary. When it appears that Marcus Peters might come back as the Chiefs top cornerback, they’re losing their second cornerback. Steven Nelson was listed as questionable for this game but has now been downgraded to out, the Chiefs say.

This one sucks. Not as bad as losing Peters but it’s still a good player out against good receivers. Nelson has been improving nicely. I know Peters rightfully gets all the attention but Nelson is a plus too. The Chiefs will have Phillip Gaines, Kenneth Acker and DJ White along with Peters. Maybe the pass rush can help make up for Nelson’s absence (hi, Justin).
Check out the rest of the injury report here. It’s a lengthy one that includes Jeremy Maclin and Dee Ford.
