The Kansas City Chiefs will be without three playmakers on Sunday and the same could be said for several more. As the team gears up to visit Mile High Stadium to take on the Denver Broncos, the Chiefs announced that wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, defensive lineman Jaye Howard and outside linebacker Dee Ford will all sit out.
Howard and Maclin have both missed games recently for the Chiefs, but this will be the first game sitting out for Ford, who has 10 sacks and 1 forced fumble on the season.
Unfortunately the Chiefs biggest strength will be significantly tested as several more players are listed as questionable, including top cornerback Marcus Peters, defensive back Steven Nelson, linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive linemen Dontari Poe and Kendall Reyes.
This leaves the only healthy defensive linemen as Rakeen Nunez-Roches and Chris Jones. In the secondary, Phillip Gaines, D.J. White and Kenneth Acker are the only healthy cornerbacks, although Ron Parker has versatility to switch over, if needed.
In case you needed another reason to be sad drink, the only injured Broncos player at this point is their long snapper Casey Kreiter. They replaced him for this week with the recent signing of former Chiefs LS Thomas Gafford.
